Our Approach
Most homes are furnished carefully and fitted out carelessly.
The sofa gets months of deliberation. The shower head gets whatever was already screwed to the wall when you moved in. The kitchen tools get bought in a hurry, replaced in a hurry, and thought about almost never.
We think that's backwards. The things you touch every single morning shape the day more than the things you look at.
What we make
Emberford makes fixtures and tools for the two rooms where the day starts and ends — the shower and the kitchen. Things you use without thinking, made well enough that you notice.
We're deliberately narrow. We'd rather make a small number of things properly than a catalogue of things adequately.
How we choose what to sell
Every product has to clear three bars before we'll put our name on it:
- It has to solve something you actually notice. Not a feature for the spec sheet — a difference you'd feel in the first week.
- It has to last. Solid materials, serviceable parts, and finishes chosen to age well rather than to photograph well.
- It has to be better than what it replaces. If it's merely different, it doesn't ship.
Plenty of products don't clear those bars. Those are the ones you never see.
The 30-day trial
You can't judge a shower head in a shop. You judge it on a Tuesday morning when you're late and half awake.
So live with it for 30 days. Use it properly. If it hasn't earned its place, tell us and we'll refund you in full. We'd rather you kept the money than a product you don't reach for.
Who we are
We're small, and we work remotely. There's no showroom and no call centre — which means when you email us, you're talking to someone who can actually change something.
If a product disappoints you, we want to know. It's the only way the next one gets better.
